We are located in remote SE Alaska about 40 miles north of Sitka. You will arrive and depart via a 30-minute float plane ride, allowing you an excellent opportunity to enjoy the picturesque landscape on the way. Our location has easy access to the open ocean as well as protected inlets depending on weather.
You and your party will enjoy a customized experience based on your interests. We currently offer ocean fishing, sightseeing trips, whale watching, beachcombing excursions, visits to a nearby hot spring, kayaking, and more. While here, all meals are provided, prepared in our homestyle kitchen. Single and double occupancy rooms allow for privacy and comfort during your stay.
Absolutely! We are a family-owned and operated business. Our younger guests also can enjoy fishing and sightseeing. Our young captains-in-training (6 & 8 years old) will happily show your children around the lodge and property. Life jackets for ages 2 years and older are available here at Khaz Bay Adventures.
This season, the cost is $4,000 per person. The price includes the float plane trip to and from the lodge, all meals, lodging, guided outings on the boat, use of all fishing equipment, kayak usage, life jackets, preparation of all harvested fish and an airline-approved non-insulated shipping container. Nonalcoholic beverages are available, however guests will need to purchase alcoholic beverages for personal consumption.
Not included: airfare between your home in Sitka, lodging in Sitka, staff gratuities, alcoholic beverages, and fishing licenses.
You will want to pack layers! The weather changes frequently over the course of a week, so you will want to bring warm-weather, wind-resistant clothing. Bring clothing to relax by the outdoor fire in the evening. Slippers to wear in the lodge are recommended. Rain gear and rainboots are provided, however, you may bring your own gear if you wish. Food and nonalcoholic beverages are provided, though you may absolutely bring personal snacks and purchase alcohol to bring for personal consumption.
You will book a flight to Sitka, Alaska, the day before you are scheduled to arrive at the lodge. You are responsible for booking hotel lodging for your party. Departure from the float plane dock is at 7am sharp, so you will want to be there by 6:30 am.
Go to www.adfg.alaska.gov and follow the instructions to purchase a 7-day Sport Fishing License for each person planning to fish. We recommend downloading the ADFG app to your phone for easy access to your license.
If you are happy with your experience, a gratuity is always appreciated. Standard tipping rate of 15-20% is common, which is split between the captain and crew.
